George Groves believes the only fighter he could not currently beat is WBC and WBA super-middleweight champion Andre Ward, according to his trainer Adam Booth.

Undefeated Groves will be chief support to the Carl Froch/Mikkel Kessler title fight at the O2 Arena on May 25, although an opponent has yet to be named for the Commonwealth title holder.

"The only person he says he can't beat yet is Andre Ward," Booth told Buncey's Boxing Podcast on ESPN.

"That's the only one that George says, 'At the moment I wouldn't challenge Ward but I'll beat the rest of them.' I keep saying, 'Alright George, let's work on this, let's work on this.'

"He's done so much in the last few months that I am now struggling to justify to myself a reason now to hold him back - not to just let go of the reins and see what he can do."

This will be Groves' second fight since signing with Matchroom promotions in March, and Booth believes the Hammersmith-born fighter is ready to tackle the aggressive schedule that Eddie Hearn is planning for him.

"He keeps saying to me, 'Chuck me in coach, let me show you how good a swimmer I am.' And he makes a good argument. And he's been showing me progressively in the gym. I can't put into words how excited I am about this year and George Groves."
