Kal Yafai has been forced to withdraw from fighting on the Carl Froch-Mikkel Kessler undercard on May 25 through injury.

The 23-year-old was in action for the first time as a super-flyweight last weekend, collecting a victory over Michael Ramabeletsa.

The Birmingham boxer, who turned professional last year, was due to feature on the same night as the crunch WBA and IBF super-middleweight contest between Froch and Kessler.

However, a muscle injury picked up in his fight with Ramabeletsa requires surgery, with Yafai not expected to be back in action for at least two months.

"Torn bicep, operation on Friday, gutted not to be fighting on April 20 and May 25 but be back soon to take some titles," the boxer with eight wins to his name tweeted.

Since turning pro Yafai has impressed, with only two of his wins decided on points.
