Amir Khan believes that the boxing world will see a "new fighter" when he faces Julio Diaz in Sheffield on April 27.

Khan meets Diaz in what will be his first bout on British soil for two years, as the pair square off in a catchweight fight at the Motorpoint Arena.

The 26-year-old believes that, since leaving Freddie Roach to team up with new trainer Virgil Hunter, he has improved as a fighter and now cannot wait to showcase his talents back in the United Kingdom.

"I'm a new fighter, you will see a totally new Khan on Saturday," Khan said in his pre-match press conference. "I've promised my family I will be new I hope everyone enjoys it.

"Training camp has been hard. Sparring has been really tough, Virgil [Hunter] never let the gas up.

"This is my first fight in Sheffield and I'm excited to be back in the UK. It's hard to fight here because people don't want to come across."

Khan recently issued his respect to opponent Diaz for agreeing to take up the challenge to fight in England, and the Mexican similarly spoke of his revival as a fighter.

"This fight is a lot more dangerous than you think," Diaz said. "I'm back, I've restructured myself and refreshed myself. I'm going to put on a great fight for Sheffield and the world on Saturday night."
