De La Hoya coy on Mayweather Jr v Khan talk

Oscar De La Hoya believes that a potential bout between undefeated welterweight star Floyd Mayweather Jr and Amir Khan is a possibility, stating the decision will be left up to 'Money'.
Mayweather Jr defends his WBC welterweight title against Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero in Las Vegas on May 5, and the fighter's advisor Leonard Ellerbe recently hinted towards the possibility of a fight in the UK in the next 18 months.
The 36-year-old played down the talk of facing Khan, but Golden Boy Promotions founder De La Hoya insisted he will do all he can to make the fight happen, should Mayweather Jr decide to fight on British soil for the first time in his professional career.
"It all depends, Floyd has to do his thing here on Saturday [against Guerrero]," De La Hoya told iFilm London. "We can't tell the future.
"We have to see. I heard some rumblings that Floyd wants to go there [to the UK] but it's all up to Floyd. We have the honour of working with him and we have the pleasure of working with him.
"He's the captain of his ship, so whatever he wants to do then we're all for it."
De La Hoya remained equally ambiguous as to who 26-year-old Khan will face following his unanimous points decision victory over Julio Diaz in Sheffield on Saturday, admitting the next step was to sit down with Khan's camp and discuss the Bolton fighter's future.
"We have to go back to the drawing board, obviously he just fought," De La Hoya added. "I haven't seen the fight but I heard he won in front of a great crowd in the UK.
"It's always amazing to see Amir Khan fight. He's always in a fight which is why people love watching him fight. It's going to be interesting to see what the plans are for him, obviously the sky is the limit for him.
"He can still be fighting at 140 or go up to 147 so we'll have to sit down with the team and figure it out."
