Pacquiao still wants Mayweather fight

Manny Pacquiao is still targeting a bout with undefeated welterweight star Floyd Mayweather Jr, but the decision lies firmly with the American - according to Pacquiao's advisor Michael Koncz.

Koncz recently confirmed that 'Pac Man' will return to the ring in Macau on November 24, and while Mayweather Jr defends his WBC welterweight title against Robert Guerrero on May 5, the Filipino's advisor remains open to a potential clash between the two.

Negotiations have taken place over the years to create what would be one of boxing's most lucrative fights, with the main stumbling block being Mayweather Jr's request for Pacquiao to agree to Olympic-style random drug tests leading up to the fight.

However, Koncz revealed that 34-year-old Pacquiao would agree to any form of testing required, as long as 'Money' committed to do the same.

"We're open to that fight, we've always wanted that fight," Koncz told iFilm London. "Now it's in Floyd's court because Manny himself said on our last press tour when we fought [WBO welterweight champion Timothy] Bradley, that he's willing to accept less.

"We're willing to do the blood tests whenever and any kind of testing as long as Floyd does the same and we're willing to give him 60% and we'll take 40%.

"Now it's all up to Floyd. I don't hold out my breath over whether that fight is going to happen. I don't blame Floyd, what his mentality thinking is I' not sure.

"But he's got a few fights left in him, he's not in the prime of his career and he has a strategy so whatever his strategy is, I'm not sure."

Speculation has been rife as to Mayweather Jr's plans following his Las Vegas bout with Guerrero, with the 36-year-old's advisor Leonard Ellerbe suggesting the possibility of a fight in the UK within the next 18 months.

A potential bout with Amir Khan has also been touted, with Golden Boy Promotions founder Oscar De La Hoya admitting the decision lies solely with Mayweather Jr.
