Audley Harrison's conqueror Deontay Wilder has been charged with domestic assault.

The 27-year-old, who extended his unbeaten record to 28 with a first round knockout of Harrison last month, was arrested in Las Vegas and taken to Clark County Detention Centre.

He has been released on £10,000 bond and is due to appear in court on July 3.

His trainer Jay Deas is unsure of the details but will attempt to get to the bottom of the incident.

"The only thing that I can say is that I wasn't there, and I haven't had a chance to go over with Deontay what happened, other than I know that he was arrested and know what the charges and stuff are, but I don't know any detail," Deas is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.

"I'm expecting that I will be talking to Deontay and trying to figure out exactly what the situation was and what happened sometime here shortly.

"Right now, I just don't have any information or any details or anything. He's home. He's back here now (Alabama). I just haven't had a chance to go over everything with him."

On Wilder's trip to Las Vegas, Deas said: "I know that he went there for the Floyd Mayweather fight. That's what he was doing out there.

"My understanding is that it was at a hotel, although I don't know which one he was staying in or what happened."
