Virgil Hunter, the trainer of Andre Ward, believes Carl Froch "would be a fool to fight" the American but insists his man would be victorious if a bout materialised.

IBF champion Froch defeated Mikkel Kessler on Saturday by a unanimous decision at the O2 Arena following a brutal encounter to exact revenge on the Dane, gaining the WBA belt as well.

After the fight Froch called for a rematch with Ward - the only other boxer to have beaten the Briton in his career.

While 'The Cobra' wants the undefeated WBC and WBA super-middleweight champion Ward to make the trip to England and take him on once again, Hunter believes there would only be one winner.

"Carl would be a fool to fight Andre. Andre would beat him. In fact, he would beat both Carl and Mikkel on the same night," Hunter told SBNation.

Ward has recorded 14 knockouts in 26 career wins, and defeated Froch at the backend of 2011 on points at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Despite Hunter warning Froch, he refused to rule out a potential rematch between the pair.

"Andre would knock out both of them. But, if they want to fight us, we would be happy to oblige. It remains to be seen, however, because nobody has made us an offer," he said.
