Cleverly tells Froch: 'Let's make this fight happen'

WBO light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly has challenged Carl Froch to an all-British bout - and even offered to make the step down to super-middleweight to make the fight happen.

On Saturday, Froch avenged his 2010 defeat to long-time rival Mikkel Kessler with a unanimous points decision win in a another classic at London's O2 Arena, and now has his sights firmly set on unbeaten American Andre Ward.

Cleverly's father and trainer recently criticised Froch for his attitude towards the Welshman, quickly stating the Cefn Fforest fighter would have no trouble in dropping down the weights to face him on the canvas.

The 26-year-old, who has yet to taste defeat after 26 professional bouts, has now reiterated his father's claim having finally called out the 'Cobra' on his official Twitter account, saying: "Let's make this fight happen."



Froch has been in high demand following victory over Kessler and, with the scores currently level at one win apiece, has not ruled out a final 'decider' with the Dane. The Nottingham fighter also wants to avenge the only other loss on his card, to Ward, and promoter Eddie Hearn has hinted towards a showdown with undefeated Brit George Groves next summer.
