Fury claims Haye fight is 99% done

Tyson Fury met with David Haye's manager and trainer Adam Booth on Saturday and he claims a deal for a British super-fight is 99% done.

Fury and Haye have been involved in verbal sparring in recent months and reports in the past week have suggested they will get the chance to settle their differences in the ring later in the year.

Both camps have been dropping hints that a meeting between Haye and Fury is on the cards. Fury was at ringside in Kent on Saturday night to see his cousin Hughie beat Ladislav Kovarik on the undercard to James DeGale and he bumped into Booth.

It was an amicable meeting and Fury revealed later in the evening the content of the conversation.

"I have very, very exciting news tonight," Fury is quoted as saying on Boxing News. "I was minding my own business over there and I bumped into Adam Booth, so we got him on camera and we asked him: 'Why is the David Haye fight not being done?' and he said: 'Do you want the fight?' so I said: 'Two million percent. The ball is in your court so call me tomorrow morning.'

"He said: 'I can't see why this fight cannot be done'. So there it is from the horse's mouth. Adam Booth says he wants this fight. The fight is 99% baby!"

Haye is currently sidelined with a hand injury, but is expected back in the ring later in the year and that could well be against Fury.
