Fury camp desperate for Haye bout

Tyson Fury has asked for a fair share of the purse if he is to face former WBA champion David Haye - despite comments made by the unbeaten Mancunian on Twitter, according to the fighter's trainer and uncle Peter Fury.

The undefeated 25-year-old, who successfully overcame veteran Steve Cunningham in his last outing in April, recently took to the social networking site to suggest he deserved more than a 50% share of the purse - believing he was the fighter drawing most of the attention.

With the pair appearing to suggest that negotiations of a potential all-British super-bout had stalled, Fury's camp then bizarrely dismissed Haye's claims as 'crazy' and insisted that talks were still on-going.

Both fighters have been going hammer and tong in their Twitter feud recently, exchanging blows in their attempts to build up one of the most eagerly anticipated heavyweight fights in the UK.

Fury, well known for his outbursts on the popular site, even joked that Haye's offer of a 50% split would not allow him to buy the new caravan that he wants.

However, Peter Fury has added a further twist to the circus by suggesting that if the bout, which has to be agreed before the end of June, does not get made then it will not be the fault of Team Fury.

"I know Tyson will beat Haye," Fury told Boxingscene. "We haven't seen the best of Tyson - he's getting better all the time.

"David's got a lot of followers himself so it will be a big fight. We want it. We listen to the Twitter comments, but let me tell you now - if that fight doesn't happen then it won't be because of our side.

"Yes, I've seen the stuff about the 80-20 and all of that - that's just Tyson winding up the crowd. The negotiations will be fair."
