Price will not retire following Thompson defeat

David Price will not be hanging up his gloves after suffering a second defeat to Tony Thompson in the space of five months.

The British heavyweight appeared to be heading for revenge after Thompson fell to the floor in the second round on Saturday night.

However, it was Price who crumbled to defeat when referee Marcus McDonnell brought the fight to an end in the fifth round when giving a standing count to the boxer from Liverpool.

But despite not being able to exact revenge on the American, Price insists he will not quit from the ring.

"I'm just trying to come to terms with what's just happened again," Price, who lost his first professional fight to Thompson in the first encounter, said.

"Really I'll have to just have a look back and see and look next week or whatever. I just need to come to terms with another defeat and another major disappointment," the 30-year-old added.
