Wladimir denies Chisora brawl reports

Heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko has angrily denied reports that he was involved in an Ibiza altercation with Dereck Chisora.

Earlier in the week, British newspapers reported that Chisora and Klitschko had been involved in a brawl in an Ibiza nightclub, after bumping into each other while taking a holiday on the island.

Chisora has history with the Klitschko family - he famously slapped Wladimir's brother, Vitali, at the weigh-in for their world title meeting in 2012 - but the younger Ukrainian has denied being involved in any dispute with the Brit.

"I'm shocked by media stories about an alleged brawl between myself and Chisora," Klitschko said on the Twitter account he shares with his brother. "I'm a pro fighter and let my fists talk only inside the ring.

"I don't want to comment on Chisora's psychological issues anymore."

On Monday Chisora, who returns to action in September as he continues to revive his career, seemed to allude to some sort of run-in with Wladimir. However, there have been suggestions in some quarters that the story is a publicity stunt to try and position Chisora for another lucrative meeting with one of the Klitschkos.

"Cippriani Ibiza twice now I've bumped into Wladimir Klitschko he is annoying me now," Chisora tweeted.

He subsequently added to the Sun: "I can't say much about what happened in Ibiza but we were both there. Them brothers can never have a quiet holiday if I've got anything to do with it.

"But it's all good fun, I can't complain.

"The best fight for them out there is me - the whole world is blasting for that fight. As long as his surname is Klitschko I'll kick his ass."
