Chisora targets "unfinished business" with Klitschko

Dereck Chisora has vowed to win the European heavyweight title before mounting a challenge to world champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Chisora defeated the previously unbeaten Malik Scott at Wembley Arena in July and was subsequently put forward by the EBU as mandatory challenger to the European title.

The 29-year-old recently bumped into Klitschko while holidaying in Ibiza, but reports of a brawl between the two were quickly denied by the Ukrainian.

There is no shortage of history between 'Del Boy' and the Klitschko brothers; Chisora lost by unanimous decision to Vitali when fighting for the WBC title in Germany last year.

However, Chisora believes his experience combined with a rivalry to the pair should aid his chance of a shot at Wladimir's belts.

"I want to get hold of that European title, because that will set up a shot against Wladimir that I've been waiting on for two years," Chisora said.

"I told him when I bumped into him in Ibiza that we had unfinished business and that I was coming for his world title belts. He seemed nervous about my presence but told me that he's ready to make it happen.

"It's as bigger fight as any out there for him, with all that happened in Germany when I faced the elder brother [Vitali]. If I get hold of the European title then it makes me the natural opponent for him.

"He's much better facing me, a live opponent that will get the whole world's attention, rather than getting another body that won't come to win.

"It would be a very different fight to the Vitali fight, I'm a lot more experienced now, and experience was the only thing that beat me in that fight. It would be a very long night for Wladimir."

Chisora is next in action on September 21 against an opponent yet to be named, while Wladimir defends his titles against the undefeated Alexander Povetkin on October 5.
