Dereck Chisora has declared he is ready to fight one of the Klitschko brothers once he has "smashed up" Edmund Gerber in their European heavyweight title clash in September.

The vacant title is up for grabs as Chisora takes on Gerber at the Copper Box Arena at London's Olympic Park, and after recording consecutive victories over Alfredo Avila and Malik Scott this year 'Del Boy' is primed for the challenge of Gerber.

"Beating Gerber is another step closer to the Klitschko brothers and nothing is going to stop me winning the European title," Chisora is quoted as saying on boxingscene.com.

"I'm fit, lean and mean and ready to do the business against Gerber who is a good fighter, but not in my class. I really want to do a great job on him, really smash him up and show that I deserve a shot at the Klitschkos," Chisora said.

Wladimir Klitschko holds the WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO belts, while Vitali is the WBC champion, and it was Vitali who Chisora lost to back in 2012 by a unanimous decision.

And Chisora is targeting a fight for the top honour. "The titles are great, winning the European belt will mean I've won the big three along with the British and Commonwealth, but the world title is the one I want," Chisora said.
