DeGale eyeing winner of Froch v Groves

James DeGale has revealed he is aiming to fight the winner of Carl Froch and George Groves in 2014, but will first defend his WBC silver super-middleweight title against an unnamed opponent on November 16.

DeGale will return to the venue of his last outing, Glow at Bluewater, a week prior to Froch's WBA world title defence against Groves in Manchester but confessed he is ready to face the winner of the all-British bout further down the line.

"I look at the Froch v Groves fight and I know that in the next six months it's likely that I'll fight the winner of that one, so it really is exciting times," DeGale told Sky Sports. "I'm ready and willing to fight anyone and it's time to step up and face the best."

The 27-year-old has enjoyed two victories at the Kent venue - first against Hadillah Mohoumadi in 2012 before stopping Stjepan Bozic with a technical fifth round knockout on his last appearance in June.

"Bluewater always has a real intensity about it and a real intimate feel, which is something that the boxing fraternity and us as fighters love," DeGale said. "I just can't wait to get in there and give a huge, devastating performance that takes the atmosphere to another level."

DeGale suffered the only mark on his card to date in a controversial fight with Groves at the O2 Arena in May 2011, where he lost by majority decision.
