The British Board of Boxing Control (BBBoC) has put a potential fight between Dereck Chisora and David Price to purse bids.

Despite suffering successive defeats to Tony Thompson in the space of five months, Price still holds the British heavyweight title and will have to defend his belt against European champion Chisora before February 2014.

Chisora defeated Edmund Gerber at London's Copperbox Arena in September to claim the vacant European title, while it was recently announced he would make his first defence on November 30 at the same venue.

Price suffered the first loss of his professional career when he was knocked out in the second round by Thompson in February, before the American stopped him again in the fifth round in their July rematch in Liverpool.

On Thursday, Price's promoter Frank Maloney cited the Liverpudlian's second loss to Thompson as one of the reasons he chose to retire from the sport.

Purse bids are due on November 13.
