DeGale: I need a world title shot
Ahead of his upcoming fight with Dyah Davis, James DeGale has indicated his desire to secure a world title shot.
DeGale returns to Glow, Bluewater on Saturday to defend his WBC silver super-middleweight belt against the American, but stated it is only a matter of time before promoter Mick Hennessy organises him a bout for world honours.
"I don't want to tread water, I need to box for a world title in my next two fights after this one," DeGale told BBC Sport.
"Mick has promised that he's going to deliver and it's his job to deliver. No pressure, Mick, but it's up to you."
DeGale has won 16 of his 17 professional bouts to date, securing six successive victories after his only career loss to George Groves in 2011.
