Floyd Mayweather Jr has revealed he knows very little about Amir Khan, but has described the Briton as a boxer who "comes and fights".

There have been plenty of rumours circulating about the pair taking on one another. However, with no fight announced, the pair's next opponents are yet to be confirmed.

But when the subject of Khan came up, Mayweather Jr admitted he has not been following the career of the 27-year-old that closely.

"I really don't know too much about Amir Khan," Mayweather Jr told BoxingScene.

"But I do know, every time out, the guy comes and fights. If he is the guy, then he's the guy [to fight next]. There's nothing I can do but go out there and execute the game plan and dedicate myself to the craft, which is boxing."

Khan suffered back-to-back losses to Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia in 2011 and 2012, but bounced back with wins over Carlos Molina and Julio Diaz.

And when the unbeaten Mayweather Jr was asked about Khan's abilities as a fighter, he said: "I think he's a young, strong champion. I call these guys champions. I call them champions because even when they get knocked down they get back up and give it their best."
