Browne would accept Fury challenge

Lucas Browne admits he would welcome a fight with Tyson Fury, having answered the unbeaten Brit's challenge on Twitter.

Fury took to the social media site on December 28 to set out his 2014 targets, which included 'Big Daddy' Browne, fellow British heavyweight Dereck Chisora and Deontay Wilder.

The 25-year-old was set to face David Haye in an all-British super bout, but the 'Hayemaker' twice pulled out of the fight due to injury - meaning that Fury has now not fought since making his American debut against Steve Cunningham in April 2013.

However Browne, who is scheduled to fight for the vacant Commonwealth title on April 3, maintains he would love to fight the outspoken Fury and that, unlike Haye, he would definitely step foot in the ring.

"All I can say is that his team should contact my promoter Ricky Hatton, and I'll sign the contract tomorrow," Browne told the Lancashire Evening Post. "The fans want to see this fight and I think it will be a war.

"He's stated he's having a warm-up fight in February. I'm in one corner to box for the Commonwealth title in early 2014. After that, I think we should fight each other. I promise Tyson that unlike David Haye, I'll definitely turn up on fight night!"

Browne has fought in England three times during his career and is yet to taste defeat after 19 professional bouts. With 17 knockout victories to his name, Browne would be the ideal opponent for Fury according to the Australian's manager Matt Clark.

"Fury has already beaten Chisora, Jones is at cruiserweight and Wilder is likely the next available contender to the Stiverne versus Arreola bout for the vacant WBC title. That leaves Big Daddy," Clark said.

"Fury is ranked eighth by the WBC and Lucas 11th. It's a fight that makes sense and it's a great one for the fans. Lucas has expressed to me just how keen he is to box Fury next year. He respects him as a boxer, but he has plenty of fans that want to see him close Tyson's mouth."
