Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed he would love to witness a rematch between Carl Froch and George Groves, but admitted that despite there being a "good chance" of it happening the 'Cobra' is still exploring other options.

Froch saw off the challenge of Groves in November last year after referee Howard Foster controversially stepped in to stop their Manchester fight in the ninth round. Groves was ahead on all three scorecards at the time and has not been shy in reiterating his desire for a rematch.

However Froch, despite remaining relatively coy on his options, has previously indicated his desire to avenge his 2011 unanimous decision defeat to Andre Ward - much like he did when defeating Mikkel Kessler in their May 2013 rematch.

Hearn stated he will sit down with the 36-year-old and discuss his immediate future on Tuesday, but maintained he would still be keen to organise a rematch with Londoner Groves.

"I think there's a great chance [of a rematch]," Hearn told Sky Sports. "I think it comes down to ego and pride at the end of the day, and of course a lot of money.

"As a fan and a promoter it's the biggest fight out there. I know we could have this at a huge stadium and have 60, 70, 80,000 people. It was a tremendous fight last time and taking away the controversy, it was one of the best fights I've ever seen. A rematch could be even bigger.

"If we can get the deal right, if we can get the mix right and if we can get these two egos together so it can happen, then it would be wonderful for the sport. If I was a betting man I think we are going to get there. I hope we do."

Froch still has a desire to fight in Las Vegas and Hearn believes that is still a possible route for the Nottingham fighter, confirming he had talked to the representatives of Ward, Julio Chavez Jr and Gennady Golovkin about potential bouts.

However, Hearn is adamant Froch taking on Groves for a second time could make for one of the biggest all-British fights ever made.

"We're talking to both fighters and looking at their options," Hearn said. "It's a fight as a fan I'd love to see - I think it can be the biggest British fight of all time.

"But at this stage of Carl Froch's career he does have options. We're speaking to Dan Goossen about Andre Ward, we are speaking to K1 promotions about Gennady Golovkin and we are speaking to Bob Arum and Top Rank about Julio Chavez Jr.

"They're all big fights and I know Carl has big ambitions to fight out in America in Las Vegas. But of course the fight that everybody wants to see in the UK is Froch v Groves II. My intention is to look very closely at it.

"I'll be sitting down with Carl tomorrow [Tuesday] and hopefully we can have some good news for the British public in the coming weeks."
