David Price secured a first-round knockout win over Istvan Ruzsinszky in Stuttgart to get back to winning ways.

Heavyweight Price, 30, suffered back-to-back defeats by American Tony Thompson last year.

Ruzsinszky got up off the canvas after Price floored him with a right hand, however the referee immediately called an end to the bout. Ruzsinszky, of Hungary, was only fighting as a late replacement for Kazakhstan's Konstantin Airich, who failed a medical on Friday.

"I didn't get much time to show what I had but I can only beat what was put in front of me," said Price.

"But that's what I've got to do to an opponent like that, get him out of there early and move on to the next fight."

Price, now working with German promoters Sauerland, was fighting on the undercard for Marco Huck and Firat Arslan's WBO cruiserweight title clash.

He had originally been scheduled to return against Evgeny Orlov on December 14 in Germany, however was forced to pull out with a virus.

After a brief spell with Adam Booth, Price is now trained by Mike Tyson's ex-coach Tommy Brook.
