Fury calls out sauna-pal Klitschko as Chisora keeps cool

Tyson Fury admitted he relished being involved in an exciting fight with Joey Abell at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday and has further called out WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Despite showing understandable signs of rust following his 10-month absence from the ring, Fury stopped Abell in the fourth round of their fight to extend his unbeaten record to 22-0. Fury was twice scheduled to fight David Haye, who withdrew on both occasions due to injury, and had not seen competitive action since his April 2013 defeat of Steve Cunningham on his United States bow.

However, following his stoppage victory in East London, Fury revealed he was delighted to get back in the ring again and is now looking forward to a summer showdown with Dereck Chisora, who successfully defended his WBO and WBA international heavyweight titles with a unanimous decision win over Kevin Johnson.

"It was absolutely brilliant. I'm back, it's good to be back and it's good to be in an exciting fight. I'm looking forward to being back in action in April," Fury said.

"Every time I fight I bring the action. I was happy with the performance. I enjoyed it. I'll be back in April, hopefully, against Chisora. I beat him as a 14-fight novice two years ago.

"Tyson too fast Fury, that's the name, fighting's the game and these are bums compared to me. I want Wladimir Klitschko, he's avoiding me, let's get it on Wlad."

Fury may already have an edge over Klitschko after seemingly outlasting the Ukrainian in a steam room when visiting the champion's training camp in Austria. The pair did not spar, but the Brit already believes he has an advantage.

"Wladimir Klitschko is known in his camp as the sauna king," Fury said. "And I can't stand saunas. But I'm competitive. It was the hottest thing I've ever been in, in my life. I thought to myself 'I'm not going to quit' because if he beats me here he's got a mental win over me. So I'm looking at him and counting in my head to ten seconds, six times a minute.

"You're only supposed to stay in for 25 minutes but he knew and I knew it was on. Anyway, he gets up after about 35 minutes and he walks straight out. He didn't speak to anyone and went straight back to his room. When I came out I was all dizzy, and people were saying to me 'What did you do to him in there?' I said I didn't do anything, but had beaten him in a competition already."

Headlining Saturday's card was Chisora, who displayed significantly improved credentials with his points scalp over Johnson. The American lost for a fifth time in his career, but has never been stopped early; even the explosive Fury and Vitali Klitschko could not breach his defence.

Chisora scored four stoppage wins out of four during 2013 and started the New Year with a professional performance against Johnson. 'Del Boy' and Fury now seem set to fight out in a summer showdown eliminator to challenge Klitschko for the WBO title and, while Chisora stated he was ready for Fury, he indicated he was just taking things one fight at a time.

"I said when this fight [with Johnson] was announced that it was going to be a long night. I said it was going to be difficult and there's nothing changed since the fight," Chisora said. "Am I happy with the performance? No, I'm very disappointed. I know I can do better than that so I'm just gutted right now. I should be happy because I won, but I'm very upset.

"Good luck to him [Tyson] - he has to do what he's doing and I do what I do. When the time is right we're going to dance together and mix it up. I'm not in the game of trash talking anybody so when he is ready he should let us know he's ready so we can get it on. I told him that already on Twitter."

Fury defeated Chisora by unanimous decision at Wembley Arena in 2011, taking his British and Commonwealth titles as well as his undefeated record.
