Nottingham 'front runner' to host Froch v Groves II
Carl Froch has revealed that Nottingham Forest's City Ground is in line to host his rematch with George Groves on May 31.
The first bout between the pair ended in controversial circumstances last November when referee Howard Foster stopped the fight in the ninth round, handing victory to Froch. But Groves has campaigned for a rematch, and his wish was granted when the IBF ordered Froch to accept a rematch within 90 days or risk losing his belt.
With the second fight now scheduled to take place, WBA and IBF champion Froch has tweeted that the City Ground, home of Championship side Nottingham Forest, is emerging as the likely venue for the rematch.
Just got off the phone with @EddieHearn & the waiting is nearly over. City Ground is now the front runner. @Official_NFFC let's do this.

Groves, however, believes the City Ground will not be the venue, and responded with this tweet:
Before you all book your trains to Nottingham because the Sheriff has tweeted.. I very much doubt King John would send us all there! #Hoax
