Carl Froch's rematch with George Groves at Wembley Stadium on May 31 has sold 60,000 tickets in less than an hour.

The rematch has been dubbed the biggest fight on British soil since the war, and the quick sale of the tickets has surpassed the record 55,000 total set by Ricky Hatton's fight against Juan Lazcano at Manchester City's ground in 2007.

Ringside seat tickets are already being flaunted on third-party websites, with some carrying price tags of over £4,000.

Promoters Matchroom Sport are now in talks with Transport for London hoping to be granted another 20,000 tickets for the Froch-Groves rematch, with the logistics of transporting so many people away from the venue late on a Saturday night being the main discussion point.

Froch was ordered by the IBF to accept a rematch with Groves following the controversial decision of referee Howard Foster to stop the first fight in the ninth round, handing victory to Froch last November.
