Fury: I will make boxing history

Tyson Fury has vowed to "get rid of Dereck Chisora" and then go on to make heavyweight boxing history.

It was announced on Monday that the British pair will face off on July 26 at the Manchester Arena - almost exactly three years to the day after Fury beat Chisora on a points decision at Wembley Arena - in an elimination fight to contend for the WBO belt, currently held by Wladimir Klitschko.

And speaking exclusively to ESPN, Fury was in typically confident mood ahead of the rematch.

"I've been gunning for [a shot at the world title] for four or five years and it's finally landed," he told Steve Bunce.

"My job is simple: All I've got to do is get rid of Dereck Chisora and the world is my oyster. I do believe Wlad will vacate the title, or retire before I even get there, and I see the division being left to the likes of me and Deontay Wilder in a super-fight for all the belts. I don't see anyone else coming close.

"We will find out on July 26, but my personal opinion is Chisora is not a better fighter than when I first stepped into the ring with him. I think he's gone backwards since then.

"Dereck will describe himself as a villain. I'm not a villain, I'm more of a good looking gentleman. But Dereck is exactly what he looks like - a mug. And he talks just like how he fights - shit.

"He got smashed by a 22-year-old Tyson Fury. Now I'm 25, I'm much more experienced with a lot better record and I would say I'm a four-times harder puncher than Dereck.

"I'm unbeaten. 22 and zero. 16 knockouts. And I'm still sexy.

"People are saying how great he's done because he's lost. He's a good loser, but you don't get prizes in boxing for coming second - it's only a two-man race.

"When you get guys like me, who don't lose, they have to say something about me, they have to slate me, because they can't bring me down. But all the losers get credit - stiff upper lip, better luck next time and all that - but people will see.

"I'm not only going to win this fight and go on to win the championship, I will also be making history because I'm going to be the first white British-Irish heavyweight to win the world title since Bob Fitzsimmons in something like 115 years .

"That in itself is legendary.

"After that, the division will be dominated by me and Deontay Wilder and I can see us having a 'super-fight' for all the titles."

Tyson also expressed his surprise that the fight with Chisora is even happening.

"I didn't think there would be a rematch, no," he added. "Going back three years, I couldn't see it happening in the future. But things happen in boxing and today a big fight's been announced and I'm looking forward to getting the wheels pumping.

"The fight is in Manchester, near my home, and it's going to be an awesome atmosphere. It's going to be a sell-out - 20-odd thousand people - and you'll be able to cut the tension with a knife.

"But one thing I will say about Dereck Chisora is that, while he's not on my level, he will come to fight; he doesn't duck anybody and he brings his game."
