Anthony Joshua is the first fighter to be confirmed on the undercard for the eagerly-anticipated rematch between Carl Froch and George Groves on May 31.

The British Olympic champion has yet to lose any of his five professional fights, last defeating Hector Alfredo Avila in the first round. The victory was his fifth straight stoppage win since turning professional in 2013.

Currently sidelined with a hand injury he sustained in the win over Avila, Joshua will be fighting at Wembley when Froch and Groves go head-to-head in the ring.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn said: "Anthony will play a massive part of the huge Wembley show on May 31. I will be looking to announce his opponent next week and we're looking at stepping him up on the biggest stage British boxing has ever seen.

"Anthony picked up a hand injury in Glasgow and although it's healing well, he will be short for April 19 in Manchester - it's disappointing but I am sure he will be on fire at the national stadium."

Meanwhile, James DeGale has left promoters Hennessy Sports, with his adviser Ambrose Mendy confirming the end of the partnership after two years.
