Oscar De La Hoya has released a statement following Richard Schaefer's resignation as chief executive of Golden Boy Promotions, insisting the company is "moving ahead on all fronts".

Schaefer announced his exit on Monday after several months of infighting with Golden Boy president De La Hoya, with whom he co-founded the company in 2002.

Mayweather Promotions chief executive Leonard Ellerbe then told ESPN that Floyd Mayweather Jr would "absolutely not" be working with Golden Boy again without Schaefer, whom he has grown close to over the years.

Two days after Schaefer's resignation, De La Hoya finally broke his silence with a short 37-word statement though did not mention Schaefer, nor Mayweather, by name.

"Golden Boy Promotions is moving ahead on all fronts," De La Hoya said. "We look forward to continuing and expanding our key position in the boxing world and to providing the public with the very best the sport has to offer."

De La Hoya is set to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in New York on Sunday.
