Kell Brook has told Shawn Porter his mind games are useless ahead of their world title fight in California on August 16.

Injury setbacks prevented Brook fighting previous IBF champion Devon Alexander but he now has the chance to take unbeaten Porter's IBF welterweight crown.

Porter - who has been touted as a potential opponent for Floyd Mayweather - has beaten Alexander and Paulie Malignaggi in his previous two bouts but Brook believes he has got the American worried.

"They wouldn't want to fight Kell Brook if they had the chance - but because I'm mandatory I am on their case and they have to fight me," Brook told Sky Sports.

"They have been messing about with the dates and stuff but we expected it. So that means we have kept on training, we weren't distracted from it, so here we are now."

Brook heads into the fight in destructive form off the back of four consecutive knockout wins but has warned Porter there is more to come.

"I want to see what I can do," added Brook. "I'm excited to see myself.

"I know I always rise to the occasion and I feel I've got many more gears to go through, that people haven't yet seen. On the 16th I think you will see the very best of me, so far.

"He's [Porter] wild, very strong. He's relentless, one of those fighters that just keeps on coming.

"But he can box, too. I think anyone at this level can - there's not a massive margin between fighters at an elite level. If anything, he might have got into some bad habits that we can pick up on.

"But overall he's a strong, all-round fighter."
