Britain's Scott Quigg will defend his WBA super bantamweight title against Belgian fighter Stephane Jamoye at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester on September 13.

Quigg had been due to fight Paulus Ambunda, but the former world champion pulled out after injuring a hamstring in training.

His replacement Jamoye has shown his pedigree in Britain before, going all the way with Jamie McDonnell in a hard-fought points defeat in 2011.

The Belgian, who is moving up in weight to face Quigg, has since slipped down the pecking order, losing to Leo Santa, the WBC super-bantamweight champion, and WBC bantamweight-holder Shinsuke Yamanaka. But he could still spring a surprise, holding stoppage wins over British duo Lee Haskins and Ashley Sexton.

Quigg had been angling for a fight with Leo Santa Cruz, but the Mexican is now scheduled to fight Manuel Roman on the undercard at Floyd Mayweather's rematch with Marcos Maidana.

Quigg's clash with Jamoye tops the bill in Manchester, with local favourite Anthony Crolla taking on Mexican Gamaliel Diaz as he attempts to force his chance of a world title shot.

Heavyweight and Olympic gold medallist Anthony Joshua will be targeting an eighth straight stoppage win, while another former Team GB star Gamal Yafai is also in action.

The September 13 event will also see two British title eliminators on the bill as Scotty Cardle takes on Kirk Goddings at lightweight and Sam Eggington faces Denton Vassell in a welterweight bout.
