Hearn: I feared Brook's career was over

Eddie Hearn feared Kell Brook's boxing career was over after the IBF welterweight champion was stabbed in his left thigh while on holiday in Tenerife.
The 28-year-old required emergency surgery to repair the wound and Hearn, Brook's promoter, acknowledged he had "the escape of his life".
"The wound looked so bad that I was worried his career would be over," Hearn said. "But the doctors say the stab wound missed every major artery and he will make a complete recovery.
"He has been very, very lucky."
Brook's left leg will remain in a protective cast for up to four weeks, scuppering plans of a first title defence in December.
Brook, who beat Shawn Porter to clinch the IBF welterweight title last month, could return to the ring in March with a potential bout against Amir Khan at Wembley planned for the summer. However, Hearn claimed Brook's recovery to full health remains his priority.
"He had been due to be in Las Vegas for the Floyd Mayweather fight before starting his training camp for December 6 in the United States," Hearn added.
"But the plan now is just to get him back to full health."
Spanish police are continuing their search for the person suspected of attacking Brook.
