Galahad eases past Dos Santos - and calls out Frampton

European and Commonwealth super-bantamweight champion Kid Galahad put in an impressive performance to stay unbeaten as the Sheffield fighter coasted to a unanimous points win against Adeilson Dos Santos on Saturday.
Galahad dropped Dos Santos twice - once in the opening round with a right hand and then again in the 10th - of their Ponds Forge Arena fight but the stoppage victory ultimately eluded him.
The 24-year-old, who revealed to ESPN that he had taken inspiration from gym partner Kell Brook's world title triumph in America last month, cruised to a points win in a fight he nearly ended early on two occasions.
The first came at the end of the opening round as Galahad landed a big right to send his opponent crashing to the floor. The bell saved a dazed Dos Santos again after he took heavy punishment in the seventh.
Dos Santos was down again in the 10th after another pulsating Galahad right hand but, despite referee Howard Foster reaching the end of his count, the bout continued. At the end of the 12th, there was no dispute as Galahad was announced winner by a huge margin (119-107, 117-109, 120-105) to claim the IBF youth title.
Victory may have come without the star knockout, but Galahad wasted no time in offering out world champion Carl Frampton, who recently beat Kiko Martinez in Belfast to claim the IBF title.
