Deontay Wilder has set his sights on a summer showdown with Tyson Fury after becoming the United States' first heavyweight world champion since 2006.

The undefeated American sealed a unanimous points decision against Canadian Bermane Stiverne in Las Vegas on Saturday night, having never previously been past the fourth round in 32 fights.

"I want to bring excitement back to the heavyweight division," he said. "I don't want to sit around. I want to fight four times a year. Whoever's ready, I'm ready.

"I'd like to challenge Fury and then at the end of the year unify the whole division by challenging Klitschko - that would be an awesome year.

"As a fighter I like Fury. He's just like me he's entertaining. He knows how to entertain the crowd. The thing about it not many guys have it and he's one of those, like me, that does.

"I'm not pretending to be something I'm not - I'm exciting, I'm funny, I have a lot of charisma. Fury is the same way, he likes to entertain the crowd. He does that and it's all natural.

"We need natural fighters around that can do that and not try to do it because people can sense bulls***. It would be an awesome fight between me and him one day.

"Hopefully we can get that fight made, get it in the history books and get it out the way because I'm ready for that."

Fury, also undefeated in 23 fights, next faces Christian Hammer on February 28 at the O2 Arena in London.
