Pacquiao issues Mayweather deadline

Manny Pacquiao has warned Floyd Mayweather that he will not hang around waiting for the American to put pen to paper on a super-fight between the pair.
The Filipino has already gone on record to say he will agree to the terms for a hotly-anticipated bout at Las Vegas' MGM Grand on May 2. Now he is calling on Mayweather to sign the deal before the end of the month, or forget about the fight altogether.
"My promoter and I, we've already agreed to the terms and conditions of whatever he wants," Pacquiao told the Los Angeles Times. "We're just waiting on the signed contract from him.
"That's the hard part - if they will fight or not. We have to know soon, because if they will not fight, we can move on and choose another opponent. We have a deadline … this month."
Negotiations for a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight have fallen through several times since early 2010, when the world's top two pound-for-pound boxers first mooted a deal.
Pacquiao has insisted he is tired of waiting for an agreement and that his demolition in November of Chris Algieri shows he is still more than a match for Mayweather, who is unbeaten in 47 professional fights.
"The fans deserve this fight," Pacquiao said. "No more will people bother me, 'Can this fight happen?' It's time to make it happen. We're waiting on a signed contract from him.
"We know he's undefeated and claiming he's No.1 pound-for-pound in the world. I just want to prove who's really No.1. If the fight is on and he beats me, I'm really convinced he is No.1. If not, I'm No.1."
The LA Times reports that the deal now hinges on how US broadcasters Showtime (which televises Mayweather fights) and HBO (which works with Pacquiao) can agree to screen the fight jointly.
"My job is a boxer - to know how much I get and prepare for a fight," Pacquiao said. "We just want to make that fight happen - for the sake of the fans, for the sake of millions of people around the world who are excited to see that fight."
