Chris Eubank Jr has called for a rematch with Billy Joe Saunders after stopping Dmitry Chudinov to claim the WBA 'interim' middleweight title at the O2 Arena in London.

The British fighter was in control of the fight from the opening round, cutting Chudinov's left eye early on.

The resilient Russian remained standing despite taking a barrage of punishment, until Swedish referee Michael Hook stopped the fight with 51 seconds remaining in the 12th round after Eubank Jr, who improves to 19-1, connected with a flurry of punches.

"Hats off to Chudonov," Eubank Jr, who lost a split decision to Saunders in November, told BoxNation at ringside.

"I have never hit somebody so many times and the guy hasn't gone down. I had to stop beating him up in the 12th and say that he's a hell of a fighter. An incredible chin.

"This result is redemption and I'm back. And I want that rematch, Billy Joe Saunders. I'm coming for you. I know what Billy is about, and the boxing public know that I'm a league above him. I now know I can go 12 rounds and turn up in the 12th.

"I'm a complete fighter and I'm ready for redemption. I went in there to box the guy and show my skills, so I knew boxing wouldn't be enough and I just have to give him punches. I'll happily fight him again - he deserves it."
