Amir Khan's former promoter Frank Warren has challenged the Bolton fighter to take on one of his current stars Kell Brook in Britain and he has slapped a multi-million dollar offer on the table to tempt the WBA light-welterweight champion.

Khan, 24, is currently recuperating after coming through a 12-round war with Marcos Maidana in Las Vegas but the Brit has stated he wants to step back into the ring in April.

Sheffield star Brook, who has won all 23 of his fights as a professional, is in line for a shot at the WBO welterweight title next year after knocking out Philip Kotey inside two rounds earlier this month, and Warren believes his charge has what it takes to take Khan's belt.

"Kell looked fantastic against Kotey and proved he is ready for the best in the world," he said. "Khan was in a hard, but exciting fight against Maidana, and if he's serious about fighting in Britain next then a fight against Kell would be a logical fight to take.

"There is talk of him facing Floyd Mayweather which is nonsense and he should take up the big offer I've made to him to take on Kell. It's a huge fight for the British public and one that they would want to see."

Brook may only be 23, but the youngster is keen to prove himself against the best. He said: "Khan's a great fighter and proved himself against Maidana, but I know I can beat him. There is no doubting that he has plenty of fighting heart after digging deep to beat Maidana and proving himself to be a true warrior.

"I'd love to get it on with him next year, Frank's made him the offer and I hope he accepts it so we can find out who is the best. Of course there is Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in the division as well and I'd like to face them at some point. People will say don't run before you can walk, but no one has seen the best of me yet. I've got two or three gears to go up at least, and I just want an opponent who will bring out what I've been producing in the gym."
