Kevin Mitchell is determined to bounce back from injury to secure a rematch with Michael Katsidis, who inflicted the only defeat of the Englishman's career.

Mitchell, the former British and Commonwealth featherweight champion, has not fought since suffering a technical knockout inside three rounds at the hands of the Australian in May. The 26-year-old subsequently required surgery on his eye, but having recovered from the injuries is hoping to return to the ring this spring. A clash with unbeaten EBU champion John Murray is one comeback possibility, but the Dagenham-born fighter is really hoping to arrange a rematch with Katsidis.

"I had an eye injury before the Katsidis fight and thought it was okay, but it came back during the fight and I split my eye muscle, I had the operation done and hope to be back in March after getting my license back," said Mitchell on the Main Event Radio Show. "John Murray would be a good domestic fight and could fill any stadium. We could do it in Birmingham, meet each other halfway, but the one I really want is Katsidis back."

Katsidis last fought in November, suffering a technical knockout defeat to Juan Manuel Marquez that saw him give up the WBO lightweight belt he retained against Mitchell.
