David Haye believes Wladimir Klitschko has been passed fit for their heavyweight unification fight this summer.

A fight between the Englishman and the two Klitschko brothers was agreed in principle a number of weeks ago, with the possibility left open that older brother Vitali Klitschko could take to the ring if Wladimir failed to recover in time from the abdominal injury that forced him to withdraw from a prior world title fight with Dereck Chisora.

However, Haye is now confident the 35-year-old has been given the green light to begin training, and will thus be the first of the two Ukrainian brothers the WBA belt-holder faces before he retires from the sport.

"I should know the date in the next couple of weeks, I know it's Wladimir I am fighting, he is fit to fight and ready to go," Haye confirmed to the BBC.

The venue for the fight has not yet been finalised either, with locations as far flung as the United Arab Emirates and Moscow having been mentioned as possibilities. However, Haye increasingly expects the bout to take place in Germany - either in Gelsenkirchen, where the two were originally scheduled to fight in 2009, Dortmund or Kaiserslautern.

"It doesn't bother me," Haye said. "I haven't been pressing them for a venue, as long as I know I am fighting at the end of June or start of July I am happy.

"I have heard people talking about crazy places all over the world, but I'm anticipating the fight to be in Germany."
