Khan not distracted by TV trouble
Amir Khan has insisted he has not been distracted by the furore over the television coverage for his WBA light-welterweight title defence against Paul McCloskey.
The fight at the MEN Arrena on Saturday will be shown on pay-per-view channel Primetime, after Sky elected to pull the fight from Sky Box Office. Sky's decision was reportedly due to a lack of interest on account of the trouble with the undercard. Sky offered to show the fight on one of its channels, but this was rejected by the Khan camp.
It has been a testing time for the Bolton fighter, but he claims it has not distracted him from his preparations.
"People have asked me if it has distracted me but I'm so focused on my job, and my job is to fight and win," he said. "I've left it to my team and hopefully after the fight I'll sit down with them and see what the truth behind it was.
"I can't take my eyes off the prize because I know he's going to come ready and he's going to come to win. We have to be more focused and more prepared for this fight because there's more for me to lose."
