Haye vows to retire Klitschko

David Haye cranked up the war of words at his second press conference with Wladimir Klitschko, vowing to end the Ukrainian's career when they meet in a heavyweight unification clash on July 2.
Having left himself open to accusations of nervousness during the first media call in Hamburg, Haye was far less subdued in front of the press on home soil - although he admitted that there will be none of his usual outlandish stunts in the coming weeks.
In 2009, Haye soured his relations with the Klitschkos irreparably by sporting a t-shirt that showed him lifting the decapitated heads of the brothers - but, with retirement just months away, he said those days are behind him.
"A lot of people thought I looked a bit subdued [on Monday]," Haye said. "The reason for that was that, with my prior fights, I spent a lot of time thinking about what I was going to do, what stunt I could pull. But I just want to concentrate on beating him as comprehensively as possible. Most of my energy is focused on destroying him.
"He's coming to a gun-fight unarmed, and he's going to get destroyed. It's time for the Klitschkos to fade into boxing history like the big robots they are."
Whether Haye is concerned or not, there was no sign of him toning down his inflammatory language - and he promised to bring the curtain down on Klitschko's career, thereby denying him the chance to claim 50 knockout victims. "It's my first fight at the stadium - and your last fight," he said.
For his part, Klitschko - whose claim to the moral high ground is getting more tenuous by the day - gave as good as he got. "Your speech was a little bit weak," Klitschko said. "I was expecting you to do more, because you want to be an actor in Hollywood.
"[Haye] is [already] a businessman - I saw the Hayemaker magazine. I opened it: Haye, Haye and more Haye. For this magazine, if you change the "H" to a "G" then it's going to be better for sales."
Having been shunned on Monday, Klitschko did not even try to shake Haye's hand before the press conference began.
