Calzaghe 'convinced' Haye will KO Klitschko

Joe Calzaghe was "shocked" by David Haye's training performance when he went to watch him prepare for a heavyweight showdown with Wladimir Klitschko.

Haye has vowed to push himself to a new level when he takes on WBO and IBF king Klitschko, who he concedes represents a tougher test than anyone he has faced before.

The Brit's power has the potential to prove the decisive factor against Klitschko, with the Ukrainian having shown signs of a fragile chin when he was stopped by Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster in 2003 and 2004 respectively.

And Calzaghe believes the venom in Haye's punches will be too much for Klitschko to withstand in Germany.

"Haye brings excitement, he's flash, he's controversial - and that's great, Muhammad Ali was the same," Calzaghe told Sky Sports News. "I had the privilege of seeing David train two days ago, and I was shocked with his speed, power and focus. I'm convinced, after seeing what I saw, that he will knock out Wladimir Klitschko come July 2."

Earlier this week, Haye revealed he is inspired by the timing of Calzaghe's retirement. The Welshman quit boxing shortly after beating Roy Jones Jnr in November 2008; Haye is planning to hang up his gloves in October.
