Weekend 'unknown' for Vettel
Sebastian Vettel says that the rest of the weekend is "a bit unknown" after a dry Friday practice ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton topped both practice sessions on Friday as Red Bull looked to be slightly off the pace over the longer runs. Vettel admitted that he didn't know if he had the car beneath him to secure a top four finish because the weather is looking so unsettled for both Saturday afternoon and the race itself on Thursday.
"We'll see, it's a bit unknown what's going to come," Vettel said. "I think so far we can be happy, we have to do our homework and improve the car because a lot is still to come so obviously we don't know what the weather's going to do; today was incredibly hot, tomorrow is supposed to be hot but maybe some rain, Sunday is going to be a little bit cooler as far as they say. This is Sao Paulo so could be anything really."
Vettel also said that there was no need to gamble on a wet set-up ahead of qualifying because the current cars don't require dramatic changes for different conditions.
"I think nowadays you don't really have a wet set-up. For sure you have a couple of things that you would like to change if it is really wet but there's not that much. More or less we put on the rain tyres and we go from there."
