Webber disappointed with third

Mark Webber said he was "a little bit disappointed" not to qualify on the front row for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Having set the provisional pole position time on his final run of Q3, Webber could only watch on as Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button beat it to secure a McLaren one-two and leave Webber in third place. He said that he felt he had done a good job during the session and was disappointed having only missed out on pole by 0.123s.

"A little bit disappointed, I would have liked to have had a chance to put the car on the front row," Webber said. "I think the lap itself was pretty good I was happy with it, Ciaron [Pilbeam, race engineer] said "Good job mate" when I finished the lap and "now let's see what happens". Then I was looking at the big screen and I saw Lewis did me and then JB as well. So it was very tight on timings, a bit disappointed not to have qualified a bit further up but ultimately I was happy with my performance and the team did a good job."

With Sebastian Vettel going for the championship, Webber said his focus was not on helping his team-mate.

"I think that we focus on ourselves tomorrow; do the cleanest race I can. We know there's maybe some tricky weather tomorrow so it's a long grand prix and I'll be focusing 100% of my efforts on my cockpit and getting to the finish line as quick as possible."

Webber added that he was prepared for a difficult race on Sunday with rain forecast, having had a taste of the potential conditions during the first part of qualifying.

"It was tricky in Q1, obviously we're on slick tyres in very damp conditions, we might see some of that again tomorrow off the back of a shower let's say going from intermediates to slicks. So tomorrow, we know Interlagos you can really have anything here. You can heavy, Malaysia-spec rain, you can have fine mist, you can have just all sorts of weather so we're completely open to that. We know that we've got to be very focused, it's a long grand prix and we will be challenged to a high level tomorrow."
