Felipe Massa says he was only affected "psychologically" by his crash during qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix.

Fresh from two heavy shunts in Monaco a fortnight ago, Massa hit the wall side-on at Turn 3 during Q2 in Montreal, bringing out the red flag in the process. However, following a brief trip to the medical centre Massa said he wasn't hurt in the accident but would need to put it out of his mind in time for tomorrow's race.

"Physically it's fine," Massa said. "This crash was nothing compared to Monaco, it was much slower. The crash I had here is more psychologically you know, rather than physically. So I need to forget about that and start a different thing. I think the pace was OK today, when it was wet it was not easy for us; when there was a dry line it was OK for us to do a good lap so we'll see how the conditions are going to be tomorrow."

Explaining the crash, Massa admitted it was his error before trying to turn his attentions to a recovery drive on Sunday.

"When I braked I just locked the rear wheels and went sideways. I didn't see the video yet but people told me I braked over the white line, so maybe it's possible because when I braked I just went sideways straight away. So it's a shame, I'm really disappointed for what happened. It's like a movie you know; that three things happened straight away like that.

"I'm very disappointed, I'm not happy but the race is tomorrow. So we need to concentrate on tomorrow, we need to try to do a good race tomorrow and you don't gain anything by going to the past; you need to go to the present, to the future and that's the way we need to work for tomorrow. It's true that it's not nice to start in the back but it's also true that this is a race and a track where every year many things happen in the race, so we need to concentrate on that and try to do a good race tomorrow."
