Cardiff Blues coach Dai Young is expecting Andy Powell at pre-season training next week despite media reports linking the back-row with a move to French side Agen.

The Welsh international has also been mentioned in connection with a move to rugby league at the Crusaders, admitting that the 13-man-code was an attractive proposition, but Young has not been in contact with Powell or his representatives over his future.

"We have heard nothing from Andy's agent, Andy himself or any prospective club about him leaving," Young told The Western Mail. "Until we do, he is a Blues player and will be expected to do all the things every other Blues player has to do. I expect to see him in training on Monday morning."

Powell's season was widely disrupted, both by injury and the controversy stemming from his golf buggy escapade during the Six Nations, which saw him excluded from the Wales squad and banned from driving. Having won an international recall for recent Tests against South Africa and New Zealand he was forced to withdraw with a thigh injury.
