The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) has ruled that neither Aled Brew nor Scott Morgan were guilty of serious foul play in the Newport Gwent Dragons' Magners League win over Glasgow Warriors on Sunday.

Both players had been cited after the game at Rodney Parade, with Brew having been accused of a 'spear-tackle' on opposition wing DTH van der Merwe and Morgan said to have punched or struck Warriors forward Calum Forrester.

However, after a hearing on Thursday, the WRU disciplinary panel ruled that while Brew had been guilty of a dangerous tackle, the offence warranted nothing more than a yellow card. The citing of Morgan was not upheld either "because the panel were not satisfied that the player (had) struck the opponent."

As a result, both players avoided suspensions and are now free to line out for their region in this weekend's Magners League derby with the Cardiff Blues in the Welsh capital.
