Glasgow Warriors head coach Sean Lineen paid tribute to his players' efforts against Munster but conceded a sloppy second-half performance at Firhill had cost them.

Lineen's team were 26-17 ahead at half time after giving the undefeated Magners league leaders the run-around in the first 40 minutes. But Munster hit back in the second half, scoring 26 points to Glasgow's three to claim a 43-29 bonus-point victory.

Glasgow forged ahead thanks to tries from winger DTH van der Merwe and scrum-half Colin Gregor plus five penalties and two conversions from teenager Duncan Weir, on debut at fly-half. And Lineen was left to contemplate what could have been.

"I can't fault the effort," he said. "But we have to cut out the errors and stop giving the opposition easy points. I was proud of what the boys did in the first half, they worked hard and they knew that the second half was going to be tough. We made a couple of silly errors, they got field position, score!"

He added: "Individual mistakes cost us heavily. It was quite obvious where it went wrong. In the first half I was really proud of the way they played but we still gifted them a couple of easy tries.

"We did a lot of good things in the game but that's incredibly frustrating after all the hard work done. Having played well for 20 minutes of our previous matches this season we played well for a half, so it's getting longer."
