Ryan Jones has vowed to end his career with the Ospreys after signing a new long-term deal with the region.

The former Wales skipper has put pen to paper on a contract that will see him remain at the Liberty Stadium until the end of the 2013-14 season.

The news adds a positive note to a difficult week for Jones, who was publicly castigated by the Wales management and stripped of the captaincy in the wake of last Friday's draw with Fiji at the Millennium Stadium.

"The Ospreys are my region, my team, and that will always be the case even when I've finished playing," he said. "I still believe that we are on the verge of something special with the set-up we have here.

"The players and the coaches are working hard together and I want to be a part of it. I don't want to play anywhere else, this is where I want to see out my career."
