Ulster have confirmed that they will lose South African prop BJ Botha at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old tight-head has played 25 Tests for the Springboks and joined Ulster in 2008, from the Durban-based Sharks Super Rugby franchise.

Botha is currently sidelined by an elbow injury and is hoping to return to action in time for Ulster's Heineken Cup quarter-final against Northampton in April.

Reports in the Irish press suggest that he may make the switch to Munster, although the lure of a return to South Africa in a Rugby World Cup year may be a factor in his decision.
