Cardiff Blues veteran Martyn Williams is reportedly in line for a switch to Aviva Premiership side London Wasps.

The 35-year-old Wales and British & Irish Lions international is set to be shown the door by the Blues at the end of the season as part of a major cost-cutting exercise, with newspaper reports suggesting that Wasps are poised to offer a two-year contract.

Williams, who was a surprise omission from Wales' Six Nations squad, has confirmed he is in talks with Wasps but that nothing has been agreed. "I am speaking to them, but there's no deal done yet. I've not signed anything," he told the Western Mail. "Everything is still quite open at the moment.

"I am speaking to various people, but nothing is done and dusted. There are a few options on the table and I am just weighing them all up. Nothing is nailed down one way or another. I'm still not 100 per cent sure what I am going to do. I don't want to make a rash decision one way or another.

"I need a bit of time to think about things and see what the best thing is for my future. I haven't really decided. I will make the decision in the next week or so. Hopefully by the end of next week I will be able to say what is going to happen. I've just got a few things to weigh up.

"I am still fit, still hungry and still feel I've got a fair bit to offer as a player. It's nice to see that other people feel that too."
