Exeter Chiefs have signed Australian-born flanker Ben White from Magners League side Cardiff Blues. White, 27, who signed for the Welsh region in 2006 after a spell with the Brumbies in Super Rugby, will join the club for next season on a two-year deal with the Aviva Premiership side. "I'm over the moon about the move, it's a new challenge for me and one which I am really looking forward too," said White. "Exeter look a great club, the facilities down there are excellent and they've had a good season in the Premiership. "They've shown this season that they are not in the Premiership just to make up the numbers, they've picked off a few of the big teams and got some good results behind them. I played down there in pre-season for Cardiff, so I know it's a good ground and the atmosphere is pretty special." White admits the challenge of coming head to head with sides like Leicester Tigers, Saracens, Gloucester and Northampton Saints on a weekly basis is something he is keen to experience after spells playing in both Australia and Wales. "Obviously I played a lot back in Australia and I've several good years with Cardiff in the Magners League," added White. "The Premiership is certainly a lot more physical and every game looks a real battle each week. "It will be good for me to try a different league because it will bring different challenges. Getting a good pre-season under my belt will be my first aim and then I look to try and get into the team. It won't be easy, I know that, Exeter have some good players, but I think competition for places always brings the best out of people." © ESPN Sports Media Ltd.
